SENSEI JOHN BALL
As a young boy all I ever wanted to do was boxing, but I stopped training in my teens due to leaving school and starting work.

I started training in Karate in 1977, just as a means of keeping fit. Over the years, Ive also trained at Akido-Judo, Jujitsu, Ti-chi and Go Ju Riju.

My first instructor was the late Phil Milner, 6th Dan, Sensei John Robinson, 3rd Dan and Ian McAllister who was 2nd Dan at the time. I graded to my 4th Kyu with them. I then went to train with Sensei Roy Orwin who was a 2nd Dan at the time and graded up to my 2nd Kyu with him. In 1981 I started training with Sensei Steve Swindle, 3rd Dan and Ged Tumman who was 2nd Dan at the time at Barnsley Wado-Kai - I graded to 1st Kyu.
