SENSEI JOHN BALL RECIEVES 5th DAN
 
5th dan presentation 2007 Sensei John Ball is presented with his 5th Dan grade.
The presentation was made by Shindo Kai chief instructor Sensei Ged Tumman (6TH Dan) in recognition of 26 years of loyal service with Shindo Kai Karate Association.

John has been studying karate and other martial arts for 31 years.

Also shown is sensei Chris Haynes who was also awarded 5th Dan.

GINA TAYLOR GAINS 1ST DAN AWARD
 
Congratulations to Gina Taylor, who recently gained her 1st Dan award.

Shindo Kai Karate Association Event...
Gina Taylor took the bronze medal in the 14 - 15 years mixed kata event held in Cheshunt, Herts.
She was only beaten out of second position by one solitary point...
Full credit to Gina for sweeping an England international to the wayside on her way to third place.
This competition was of a very high standard, with 20 other students from all over the UK competing in Gina's catagory.
Paul Royston
 
Paul Royston Paul Royston, who was coached by Sensai John Ball from being a youngster, has just recently triumphed in the U18's section of the under 65kg category at the British National Karate Championships at Sheffield's Ponds Forge.
He has also represented England at U18 level.
KARATE MEDAL HAUL
 
A host of Rotherham Wado-Kai members came up trumps at the recent Shindo-Kai Kyu Championships in Barnsley, amassing a host of medals.
Leading the way was Gina Taylor, who scooped gold in the kata boys and girls 13-15 years blue and above category.
Gina is in fine form and also recently finished third in the 13-15 girls kata competition at the recent Amateur Martial Arts (AMA) Championships in Nottingham.
In the boys and girls 6-7 years individual kata. Rawmarsh youngster Joel Shaw finished second and followed this up with another runners-up spot in the kumite all grades category.
Joel also claimed bronze in the boys and girls 6-7 years team kumite, along with team-mates Aaron Campbell and Sam Shaw.
Ryan Milton finished second in the individual kumite boys 14-15 years team, along with Sam Barber and Lewis Bowles, to silver in the team kumite event.
Competing in her first ever competition, 15 years old Keeley Hind triumphed in the individual girls 13-15 years white to green category, with Grace Cox finishing third.
Hind and Cox, along with Lyndsey Gould, claimed third place in the girls 13-15 years team kumite.
